  1. 6. Right now, computers, which are supposed to be our servant, are oppressing us.
    by: Jef Raskin

For me, it is true because in the first place we are very much attached with these device.Like for example instead of doing your assignment/ homework you get used to not reading a book, or researching something at the library. Just a few key- strokes and you have your answer. Instead of analyzing of what you are reading you just copy paste it and save. You did not spend time to analyze and using critical- thinking.Being on the computer too much can also lead to anti-social and depression.

  2. 2. "Computers make it easier to do a lot of things, but most of the things they make it easier to do don't need to be done" by Andy Rooney

I agree in this quotation, because computers make our lives easier. It is more accurate, fast and can accomplish many task easily. Instead of completing those task manually much more time is required. Computer gives a specific or brief information for a better understanding.
For example,Grading System. It means that when we relate it in the grading system. Instead of doing it in step by step with solutions which is not needed to be done because result only matters, it means that to reach the result easier computer can do that.

The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers. ~Sydney J. Harris

Yes i believe in this quotation because computers will not be functioning without the presence of humans. Computers are useless without us who will be the one to operate this technology. Those information in computers are all products of humans cognitive capacity. Yet we are very dependent to this device but still it will become useless without our existence. Computers are useless if humans will rely on books since it is more accurate and reliable in terms of sources since it is already published. Our intelligent capacity will not loading compare to computers. All the contents that the computer has to offer and even it’s design are made by people. this device is created by men then still the most extraordinary computer is the man itself.

    1. Computers are useless. They can only give you answers.
    Pablo Picasso

For me the phrase means exactly as it says. They are useless in a sense that they are limited to their programming. They cannot create, innovate or even function beyond the given parameters of their programming. Yes they can give you the answers but they cannot explain further or create another answer beyond what they already have.

  5. 6. Right now, computers, which are supposed to be our servant, are oppressing us.
    Jef Raskin

For me and through my own words this is maybe a correct statement sometimes because do computers can done what a human can officially do.In this sense, I will relate it, in the generation we are facing right now, in the site of labor forces, some point computer can do faster than the human can do.But the main purpose of computer why it is invented is to lessen the work of the person and not to replace or to be oppress. So in this ,it keep us down by unjust use of force or authority can be or it oppress us.

The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers. ~Sydney J. Harris

Yes,I believe this quotation because computer is useless without the man,and we know that computers are the invented by the man. Therefore computers is very useful device or technology in our generation today, because it makes our task easy .Furthermore computer is not a danger if we use it in a right way,man is more knowledgeable than a computer.Computer it must be done through the program and it depends of our command on how to use it while the man will use their own knowledge, skills and etc..

The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers. ~Sydney J. Harris

I absolutely agree with this quotation. Aristotle had said once that "Man are rationale" means they are the most knowledgeable creature that created by God. Computers are created by those who have wisdom, feelings and heart who is the man. If man would think soon like a computer, I am pretty sure that man will be more intelligent but sad to say, an intelligent numb.

  8. 3. Computers are famous for being able to do complicated things starting from simple programs.
    Seth Lloyd

Computers are invented to help human task more easier. Computers are able to do complicated things that us human being cannot made ahead of time. Computers became famous because of people. people introduced computers because they believe that this thing would somehow useful in there daily task.

  9. Computers are famous for being able to do complicated things starting from simple programs. -Seth Lloyd

I have chosen the statement coming from Seth Lloyd. As we all know that technology is dynamic it changes from time to time. With the technology that we had right now, we can do multitasking wherein we will not focus only to one task at a time but we aim to finish tasks as many as possible in order for us to be productive. To cite one common example, in the case of teachers they tend to use computer programs particularly the microsoft excel in computing the grades of his/her students by that it makes his/her work easily and if there are spare time he/she can make use of it to do other tasks for the day.

  10. 7. Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all. ~John F. Kennedy

YES!because I believe that without the presence of human, computer is nothing. We must always remember and bear in our mind that computer is only a tool to become our work more easier and effective. As a future educators we don't always depend our self on the technology that we have, but we must always trust our self and in our capacity on how to become more creative and effective in terms of teaching and learning process. We all know that we are now living in modern world which is the world of technology. Technology is good but has a limitation, its up to us on how to deal with it.As a challenge being a future educator that always believe in yourself and the kwowledge that you have.

    6. “Right now, computers, which are supposed to be our servant, are oppressing us”
    - Jef raskin

Nowadays, we live in a world of advancement, a world in which technology is surprisingly making its rampage, and thus, produce new faces. And these new faces of technology became temptations and a threat as well. Just like computers- a face of technology, in which it ruins man’s physical and mental abilities.

Today, we can observe these oppressions or shall we say “threats” as computer addictions, computer dependency, and etc., and these results to the destruction of human purpose and human self. Man are ought to work physically and mentally in order to maintain body balance. Man should learn from computers of correct grammar and word usage. But now, as computers have begun to intrude the human nature, we do nothing in a day but to sit and watch to a thing that we think can help to the human development, we just type and ignoring the correct usage of grammar and spelling of words, anyway, there is the computer who would check itself about its grammar and spellings.

These are only few negative side effects of having ruled by these unstoppable technologies. There are still unfolded truths for every story revealed.

Computers have extended their nature of limitations- which is to help mankind in developing the world and also for the development of one’s self.

But what’s happening today? Are these signs of domination of computer’s capability over man’s capacity?

    7. Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all. ~John F. Kennedy

Yes, we can say that computers nowadays are on its domination. They are highly needed for industrialization, for institutions, and any other main stands of the world. We can say that those computers rule the human minds, human are dependent on what computers can do, especially on automatic computation, researchers, facts and any other benefits we can get from using these computers. But still, these computers would be useless without the operation of humans. Computers cannot operate themselves, they have no senses unlike humans. Humans can operate and can think without the whole knowledge of what can computer can give, that’s why humans are still the most extraordinary computer of all.

Another thing is that, humans are the ones who think of the ideas to serve as an input to the computer, computers just give answers, they don’t think. They can’t get exactly what you want to get.

And another thing, computers did not make their own self, but it is “man” who invented computers, it is man who first to compute. That’s why, even if we turn the world upside down, still, man is the most extraordinary computer of all.

Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all - John F. Kennedy.

The real danger is most that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers - Sydney J. Harris

It is true that man is the most extraordinary computer of all in such a way that he/she can do everything. The man has a wide range of knowledge and also experiences that normal computer don't have. And human body just like the computer, consist of systems but the difference is that, the systems of human body doesn't need electricity to function and be productive not just like computers itself.

And if we will analyze the passage or quotation, given by Sydney J. Harris that the real danger is when man will begin to think like computer, it's true, because if it happen, man will be just a thing that will function only if there's a command.

    3. Computers are famous for being able to do complicated things starting from simple programs.
    Seth Lloyd

This phrase simply emphasizes how computers affect the life of human beings from complicated things transforming it to simple things in the sense of accomplishing the tasks smoothly. As future educator, computers are conducive in terms of facilitating the learning of our students and to help them prepare for the future usage of technology in education. We should also consider that without the presence of human beings, computers are nothing. Human's capacity to create and upgrade the abilities of computers helps people to become more effective and productive individuals. We cannot tell that computers are famous if it wasn't patronized.

  15. 7. Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all. ~John F. Kennedy

I choose this quote because I agree with the quote.
All the contents that the computer has to offer and even it’s design are made by people in other words The concept of a computer came from a man.

The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers. ~Sydney J. Harris

Technology has tuned us to rely heavily on technology making us lazy. Because we prefer riding a car rather than travelling by bicycle or any other means of transportation. Furthermore, we humans prefer to use calculators even for small calculations which can be done manually. In conclusion to that Technology is changing the fabric of humanity and it is up to us, the present generation, to weigh the advantages of such advancements and decide if such advantages will benefit humanity as a whole.

The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers. Sydney J. Harris

Yes, indeed. Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all because only man can manipulate a thing or a certain object without any command while computers cannot. It is also true that man could absorb the things that they have seen, read and learn in the computer. Humans can use their prior knowledge on how to use a computer. But the main point here is that human beings can able to explore everything what they want but computers can't do what man can do. Why? because its just that programs are the one who help the computer to function and without all these programs computers will be useless and nothing. That's why it is hard to imagine if human beings think like computers because they know how this kind of technology works.

"Computers make it easier to do a lot of things, but most of the things they make it easier to do don't need to be done". Andy Rooney

    This quote take my attention!.

I agree to this quote because as what I observe nowadays almost all of the population are using computers. Using computers makes the job/work more easier and convenient. Connections to other people in faraway places were just as fast a one click. People tend to depend on computers in doing there respective businesses yet sometimes leave their work hanging because they are just thinking that they would finish it later. Nevertheless, although computers are used to advise and assist humans, and extend their capabilities, they are very seldom given the power to act autonomously. The reasons for this are manifold, and so rooted in centuries of history as to be unquestioned.

The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers. ~Sydney J. Harris

it is true that computers gives much convenience nowadays but today, the predilection is for us to think about how one day, machines and computers might be able to think like us, and the troubles that that might bring for the human race. upon watching a certain movie entitled The Oblivion, a sci-fi movie which foretells the true enemy of earth is the army of machines that men themselves once created? But people do not realize the real hazard that faces us today, which is that if we start thinking, behaving and acting like the machines do; it would be by far more disturbing than the former. The computer is thus, not evil unless it is used as an alternate to learn the fundamentals, such as writing, reading and basic mathematics. The time that we become dependent on computers and start using it as our number one resource of education, we lose the basics which build everything else. This is when we lose our creativity, originality and narrow our thinking to programmable machines.
we made computers and only us can manipulate it and destroy it. it is only us who can control ourselves and that's why man is still the most extraordinary of all the computers.

  20. 1. Computers are useless. They can only give you answers.

This quote tells that a computer is only a machine and can only be manipulated by every human, so without any person this machine called computer is useless.
